We are located in Whittier, Alaska the "Gateway to Prince William Sound".   Whittier is just an hour's drive from Anchorage and Ted Stevens International Airport. The drive south is along the Seward Highway and the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet, considered the second most scenic highway in the USA (behind Highway 1 in California). And indeed, the incredible views are breathtaking. As you drive along there is a good possibility of spotting Dall Sheep meandering the cliffs along the highway's edge, eagles soaring overhead or feeding on the mudflats, moose up to their knees in the wetlands, and Beluga whales in Turnagain Arm.  Cook Inlet has the second highest tides in the world (After the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia), and when conditions are right, an awesome bore tide will flood up Turnagain Arm.  Click here to see a video.

From Anchorage, drive south on the Seward Highway (it's the only road south out of town) and proceed 40 miles to Portage Glacier road. Turn left and follow the road to the tollbooth for the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel. The toll for passenger vehicles is $12. The tunnel opens on the half-hour for one way traffic to Whittier.
This tunnel is designed for the dual use of vehicles and trains and is the longest dual use tunnel @ 2.6 miles in the world.
When you exit the tunnel, proceed straight ahead and you will come to the Whittier Small Boat Harbor.  Stop in the unloading zone at the head of the eastern ramp down to the docks. (Right next to the public restrooms and the Whittier Harbor Store).  The boat is docked in Slip F-15 which is straight down the ramp and ahead to the 8th slip on your left.  If you get lost, there are plenty of friendly folks around to point you in the right direction, and you can call our cellphone @ 907-306-4365.
